Bhagya Bhoomi (BIOCOMPOST)
|
Attainment of self sufficiency in the
production of food grains in India through Green Revolution
has resulted in use of high yielding varieties, higher
level of nutrients and plant protection measures,
which necessitated the use of chemical fertilizers
and pesticides. Now, we have realized that use of
higher quantities of chemicals is hazardous not only
to soil, animal and human health, but also deleterious
to the environment. Hence Sustainable Agriculture
through Organic Farming is drawing the attention of
farmers across the world.
SCM Sugars Ltd., a prime promoter of
sustainable agriculture, has adopted an eco-friendly
technology of composting to turn sugar industry pressmud
and distillery spentwash into humus rich biocompost
that can be recycled back to farm lands. The biocompost
is branded as BHAGYA BHOOMI available in 5 and 50
kg bags, containing all essential plant nutrients
required for Indian Agriculture.
CONTROL UNION (formally
SKAL) certified BHAGYA BHOOMI as 100 % ORGANIC
and free from Pesticide Residue and Heavy Metals.
BHAGYA BHOOMI is a product of interrelated
benefits to the soil and crop plants
|
 |
It is a storehouse of
all essential plant nutrients, which are released
slowly preventing loss through leaching. |
 |
Large amounts of humate material
resists drought more effectively and produce better
yields where rainfall or irrigation may be insufficient. |
 |
Improves physical condition of soil
by increasing water holding capacity, infiltration,
aeration and drainage thus instrumental in controlling
soil erosion. |
 |
Helps in balancing soil pH by acting
as buffer to acidic and alkaline soil |
 |
Improves biological property of
soil by enriching beneficial microorganisms |
|
All this will contribute
to improvement in soil productivity. Crops grown with
application of BHAGYA BHOOMI showed increased yield
and quality by reducing the use of chemical fertilizer.
This has resulted in decreased cost of cultivation and
saving of money to our farmers. |
